A broad daylight robbery of a sandwich shop in Elizabeth has police on the search for a suspect.
According to a statement released by Elizabeth City Spokeswoman Kelly Martins, yesterday at approximately 11:37 a.m., a black male wearing a dark colored hoodie entered the Subway on Broad Street.
Spokeswoman Martins said the man pulled out a handgun from a green nylon lunch box and demanded money from the clerk.
The clerk turned handed over an undetermined amount of cash before the suspect ran from the store.
Martin described the suspects as a black male, with a thin build and approximately 5’10" tall.
The suspect wore a hoodie sweatshirt -with blue stripes- and matching pants. Martin said the suspect had on dark-colored sneakers with white lettering on them.
