An armed carjacking that was reported at the Jersey Gardens Mall last night has authorities in Elizabeth investigating.
Police were called to the 600 block of Kapkowski Road shortly before 9 p.m. to investigate reports of an armed carjacking according to reports.
Units arriving at the scene were met by the victim who told them that two male suspects approached armed with a gun and demanded the vehicle.
The suspects made off with a gray 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a reported NJ license plate number " T95-GCM" reports said.
The vehicle is an SRT model with a roof rack and chrome rims.
The suspects sped away in a vehicle and were last seen heading northbound on the NJ Turnpike.
Area police departments were notified.
There were no physical injuries immediately reported.
