Elizabeth Police High-Speed Chase from NJ to NYC Ends with Two Arrested

Elizabeth Police engaged in a high-speed pursuit that spanned from New Jersey into New York City, ending with two suspects in custody and a search underway for a third individual who managed to flee the scene.Ice CreamThe chase began after a vehicle occupied by suspects wanted for aggravated assault on officers and other criminal activities rammed into a police cruiser in Elizabeth.

The suspects, driving a Jeep Cherokee, which was also linked to crimes in the city, initiated the pursuit on the NJ Turnpike’s northbound lanes near mile marker 103.4.

Despite suffering damage to their rear tire, they pushed the vehicle to speeds exceeding 75 miles per hour, eventually crossing over the George Washington Bridge into NYC.

The chase came to a crashing halt near the intersection of 178th Street and Cabrini, where the suspects attempted to escape on foot after abandoning their vehicle.

Elizabeth Police successfully apprehended two of the assailants, while one managed to evade capture and remains at large.

The pursuit damaged at least one Elizabeth police cruiser, though all officers involved were accounted for without physical injuries.

The incident is currently under thorough investigation as authorities work to apprehend the remaining suspect and piece together the events that led to this pursuit.
