Authorities arrested three Union County men yesterday, after a road rage dispute ended with one injured, Port Authority police said.
According to police, sometime around 2 p.m., a 2013 Chevy Impala and a 2012 Mercedes Benz stopped in the area of 14th and Erie Streets in Jersey City after exiting the Holland Tunnel.
The occupants in the Chevy, later identified as Byron Simpson, 43, of Plainfield (driver) and Daniel Vaughn, 28, of Plainfield (passenger), got out and pulled the driver of the van out of the vehicle and began hitting him, a witness told police.
The driver of the van, later identified as Norbert Lozaro, 28, of Elizabeth, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health were he was treated for facial injuries. He was found in possession of a box cutter, according to police.
The three men were all arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault.
Simpson was found to have five outstanding warrants out of Scotch Plains. Lozaro was charged with bail jumping and possession of a weapon and found to have an active warrant out of Elizabeth.
It remains unclear what lead to the altercation.
