Elizabeth Pastor Introduced as First Hispanic State Police Chaplain

Elizabeth New Jersey

Yesterday, Lieutenant Colonel Fritz Frage, Major James Ryan, along with members of the New Jersey Latin-American Troopers Society formally announced Pastor Carlos Cedeño as a State Police Chaplain.

Officials say in this historical ceremony, Pastor Cedeño was recognized as the first Hispanic New Jersey State Police Chaplain. Pastor Cedeño has been the senior pastor of Christ Fellowship Church in Elizabeth, NJ and has played an essential role in bridging the gap between law enforcement and communities throughout the state.

As a chaplain, Pastor Cedeño will provide members, their families, and the community with spiritual counseling, religious referral, and general character guidance through the various religious denominations within our society.

During the event, Troopers and members of the State Police Explorer Program also distributed donated backpacks to children from the parish. Families in attendance showed their appreciation to the Troopers and had a great time celebrating with the pastor!

Congratulations to Pastor Cedeño and great job by all involved!
