Authorities are investigating an early morning crash that killed two women, one from East Orange and the other from Elizabeth, in Clifton early this morning.
First responders rushed to the westbound side of Rt. 3 near Valley Road in Clifton shortly before 3:15 a.m. where they arrived to find a crashed/overturned vehicle with two 21-year-old women were ejected from the vehicle.
EMS performed CPR on both of the victims at the scene. However, despite emergency crew's efforts both victims - only identified as two women in their 20's were pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Expect a closure on the westbound side of the highway for the morning rush..
