Elizabeth City Officials React to Social Media Threat Made to High School

A reported threat to do harm on Elizabeth High School staff and students made on a social media site had city officials take action overnight.

According to a message released by Mayor Chris Bollwage on his social media page, the alleged threat was made on Instagram on Tuesday evening.

The mayor said in a statement: "Attention Residents, The City of Elizabeth is aware of the Facebook / Instagram post that is circulating and has assigned police personnel to all schools tomorrow. We are investigating the message".

The threat alluded to the possiblilty of a shooting that will occurr on Wednesday -Halloween Day-.
