A popular New Jersey-based food company is recalling nearly 10,000 pounds of frozen chicken snacks after federal officials found the products were manufactured without the required USDA inspection.

According to information released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Snack Mania Brazilian Delights Corp., located in Elizabeth, is voluntarily recalling approximately 9,722 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken coxinhas.
The recall applies to products made between June 27, 2024, and May 2, 2025.
The affected item is labeled as:
- 16.37-ounce plastic packages of “Snack Mania COXINHAS BRAZILIAN STUFFED BITES Original Chicken”
These products were distributed to retail stores in multiple states, including New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, and Massachusetts.
The issue came to light during routine FSIS monitoring, which revealed that the chicken coxinhas were produced in a facility that lacked federal inspection and did not bear the USDA mark of inspection required for such products.
As of now, there have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions linked to the recalled items.
However, officials urge consumers to check their refrigerators and freezers for the product. Any packages found should be discarded immediately or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Consumers with concerns about potential illness or injury after eating the product are advised to consult a healthcare professional.
