Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect that beat and robbed an elderly man in Newark on Monday evening.
The incident happened at around 7 p.m. when the male suspect approached the victim in the 30's block of Humboldt Street and demanded personal possessions from the 75-year-old male victim.
As the elderly man began to handover items, the suspect went on the attack, beating the victim in the face and head according to reports.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he suffered non-life threatening injuries but required immediate medical attention.
The suspect was last seen wearing and orange shirt and black pants when he fled the scene on Humbodt Street.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
