An eight-year-old child was severely burned in an incident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, at approximately 2:12 p.m., Plainfield Police and Fire units responded to 900 Block of West 6th Street for a burn victim.
Police said that the young victim was severely burned by a candle.
The victim was then transported via State Police Medevac from Plainfield High School to St. Barnabas Hospital.
