A Middlesex County man has admitted to his involvement in a Plainfield shooting that left a man dead and two women injured a little more than three years ago, acting Union County Prosecutor Michael A. Monahan announced Thursday.
Officials say Jordan Robinson, 25, of Edison pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter during a Wednesday hearing before state Superior Court Judge Lisa Miralles Walsh.
According to authorities, at approximately 2:15 p.m. on November 6, 2015, Plainfield Police Division officers rushed to the 300 block of Evona Avenue in Plainfield’s West End to find three victims suffering from gunshot wounds: 24-year-old Anthony Bowles, of Plainfield, a then-33-year-old woman, and a 6-year-old girl, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutors Jillian Reyes and Bryan Tiscia, who are prosecuting the case.
Officials say Bowles was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead, Reyes and Tiscia said. The two other victims were transported to another local hospital for emergency treatment.
An intensive joint investigation involving the Union County Homicide Task Force, Plainfield Police Division, Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and Edison Police Department resulted in Robinson being identified as a suspect in the case, and he was arrested in Matawan on Thursday, November 19, 2015, lodged in Union County Jail on $1.5 million bail.
Sentencing in the case has been scheduled for Friday, March 22, 2019, at which time the State will recommend that Robinson receive a term of 23 years in state prison, with at least 85 percent to be served before the possibility of parole under New Jersey’s No Early Release Act.
