East Orange TSA Agent Accused of DWI, Arrested Outside Newark Airport

Elizabeth Newark East Orange

A 33-year-old TSA agent was arrested Monday outside Newark Liberty International Airport for allegedly driving drunk.

According to Port Authority police, officers were forced to stop Kimberly Fleming on Routes 1 & 9 around 1:30 a.m. in Elizabeth.

Fleming reportedly had bloodshot eyes and had a strong odor of alcohol.

When officers asked her to exit the vehicle, she stumbled and was only wearing one shoe when she failed a field sobriety test. When police questioned Fleming on damage on the left side of the 2013 Nissan, Fleming allegedly claimed "someone" collided with the vehicle.

Fleming was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

She was released yesterday pending a Jan. 13 appearance in Elizabeth Municipal Court.

A TSA spokeswoman said confirmed Fleming is a screener at the airport and was consequently suspended for a 7-day period following her arrest.
