East Orange Man Racing in Newark Allegedly Found with Loaded Gun

Authorities announced the arrest of **Mr. Charles Taylor, 29, of East Orange,** last night for weapon and CDS possession.

According to officials, at approximately 9:20 p.m., police observed a motorcycle and dirt bike racing eastbound on Clinton Avenue.

Police said the motorcycle driver violated various traffic laws, including running a red light and swerving into oncoming traffic.

Officers attempted to stop Taylor, but police say he ignored their commands to pull over.

Offciers eventually apprehended Taylor in the area of Clinton and Avon avenues, where they found him in possession of a loaded .45 caliber handgun, 23 Xanax pills and 12 Oxycodone pills police said.

Taylor was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, two counts of CDS Possession and Resisting Arrest.

Police also issued Taylor motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and improper passing.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
