There were non-life threatening injuries reported in a robbery that turned into an assault in Jersey City this morning.
Police were called to the 100 block of West Side Avenue before 4:30 am to take a report of a robbery that occurred at that location.
Units arrived to find the victim who told officers that they were robbed of several hundred dollars shortly before their arrival.
The unidentified suspect then began to attack the victim causing minor injuries.
Police have launched an investigation and are now searching for the suspect.
