Firefighters from several Bergen County municipalities battled a fast-moving, multi-alarm fire that gutted at least two homes in Ridgefield Park early Tuesday morning.

The blaze was reported by residents in the 100 block of Brinkerhoff Street around 2:35 a.m., prompting a large emergency response.
When crews arrived, they were met with heavy fire engulfing a single-story home that was rapidly spreading to a neighboring structure.
Firefighters immediately stretched multiple hose lines and raised ladders as they worked to contain the flames.
Officials at the scene struck up to four alarms for additional manpower as the fire intensified, consuming a second home and threatening a third nearby structure.
Utility crews from PSEG were called in to shut off gas and electricity as firefighters surrounded the homes and poured water onto the fire from multiple angles.
Authorities said it took approximately an hour to bring the blaze under control.
As of 4:45 a.m., there were reports of injuries, though the extent and number of those injured were not immediately confirmed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
