The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a violent shooting that occurred overnight in Trenton, leaving two people injured.
Police responded to reports of an active shooting around 2:10 a.m. at 528 North Clinton Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found two unidentified individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency CPR was administered to one of the victims before both were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
The area was cordoned off as police conducted a thorough search for additional victims and evidence related to the shooting.
No additional injuries have been reported. Reports say the suspect responsible for the shooting has fled the scene and remains at large.
The investigation into the incident continues as authorities seek to understand the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to locate the suspect involved.
