Hillside Police are investigating a crash that caused serious injuries on a highway in the township overnight.
A preliminary investigation indicated that emergency responders rushed to the eastbound lanes of Route 22 near Bloy Street at approximately midnight.
Upon arrival, police notified PSEG to the scene to secure power after a car crashed into a pole and trapped at least one occupant inside the vehicle.
The condition of the victim/s could not immediately be confirmed, but as of 1:05 a.m., police continued their investigation on the closed roadway while traffic detectives determined the cause of the collision.
Hillside Police is currently handling the collision investigation.
