An off-duty EMT was airlifted to the hospital after he was struck and injured in a crash while riding a motorcycle in Elizabeth this afternoon.
According to Elizabeth City Spokeswoman Kelly Martins, it happened around 2:40 p.m. near the intersection of Magie Avenue and Springfield Road.
Martins said details are still developing on what caused the crash. The conscious and alert EMT was transported to the Kean University soccer field, where a Medivac helicopter was waiting to airlift the victim to the hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
There were no other serious injuries reported.
