Drug Raid Leads to Arrest of Cape May Men; Bazooka Among Several Weapons Seized

Authorities announced the arrest of two Cape May County men after they were found in possession of a bazooka among other weapons following a drug raid Friday.

Officials said county SWAT team and township police executed a search warrant at a Lacivita Drive home, where they recovered a bazooka, a .45 caliber handgun, and two shotguns. In addition, police seized 3 pounds of marijuana, 20 grams of cocaine, $12,521 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Police subsequently arrested Matthew Lindholm and Craig R. Byrd, both 40. Authorities charged Byrd with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. While Lindholm - former member of military - didn’t appear to have permission from the military to to take the weapon home from Iraq, was charged with possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun, possession of hollow point bullets, endangering the welfare of a child and marijuana offenses.

Police said Byrd and Lindholm were sent to the Cape May County jail.

Additional charges related to the bazooka, a rocket launcher weapon, are pending.
