Driving Woman's Throat Slit by Husband in Burlington County

A 37-year-old Burlington County man was taken into custody after he allegedly slit his wife’s throat as she was driving down Route 130, authorities said today.

According to authorities, Quentin S. Fortune, 37, of Somersdale, was in the car - a Chevrolet Cruze - with his wife Cynthia Fortune, 54, when for unknown reasons, slit her throat causing car to hit several cars on the northbound side of the highway.

The car then entered the Route 130 Diner parking lot where Quentin allegedly dumped his wife's body on the street and fled on foot.

When police arrived, they found Quentin wearing only a bloody T-shirt, boxers and sneakers and Cynthia's body alongside their Chevrolet Cruze, where a knife was seized from the front seat of the car.

Quentin was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He is being held on $300,000 bail at the Burlington County Jail.
