NJ State Police is investigating the cause of a fire that injured a person inside a car on I-80 in Paterson Saturday afternoon.
Police and firefighters rushed to the eastbound lanes of I-80 near exit 57 after receiving reports of a car fire around 3:25 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters extinguished fire that ignited a car, with the victim suffering serious burns.
Police say the injured was provided medical attention on the highway until EMS transported the victim to an area hospital.
There were no other serious injuries reported.
