Driver, Passenger Injured After Dispute Ends in Pepper Spray Attack on NJ Transit Bus in Newark

NJ Transit officials and Newark Police officers are on the search for a man who activated pepper spray during a verbal altercation that occurred on a public bus on Monday afternoon.

According to police officials, the incident happened at approximately 2:10 p.m. on the NJ Transit Bus number 13.

Police say, while at the intersection of Broad and Edison Place, two males -who were onboard the bus- engaged in an altercation.

During the heated dispute, one of the men brandished pepper spray and activated in the direction of the other man police said.

According to police, the victim and a female driver of the bus were treated by EMS for non-life threatening exposure.

The suspect fled from the bus and remains at-large, according to police.
