A man died early Wednesday after his SUV crashed and burst into flames along the southbound Garden State Parkway in Old Bridge, according to information released by New Jersey State Police.
Troopers say the vehicle was traveling in the express lanes shortly before 4:30 a.m. when it suddenly veered off the roadway, struck several trees, and caught fire. 
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, roughly a half-mile north of Exit 120.
State Police have not yet released the victim’s identity, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
