Driver Critically Injured After Early Morning Rollover Crash on I-280 in Morris County

Authorities are investigating a serious single-vehicle crash that left a driver critically injured early Sunday morning on Interstate 280 in Morris County.

According to preliminary information, the crash occurred around 3 a.m. on the westbound lanes of I-280 near Exit 1W in East Hanover. 

New Jersey State Police troopers responding to the scene found an overturned vehicle with the driver trapped inside.

 

Emergency rescue crews worked to extricate the victim from the wreckage before the driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment. 

The victim was reported to be in critical condition as of approximately 4 a.m.

 

The crash involved only one vehicle, and no other injuries were reported.

 

New Jersey State Police requested a crash investigation team to assist at the scene, as the investigation remains active. 

Authorities have not yet released additional details.
