A driver fell asleep behind the wheel and veered into a parked vehicle, sending it crashing into a utility pole Friday morning.
According to police, officers responded to Liberty Avenue for a report of a crash shortly after 1 a.m.
Upon arrival, police learned that the driver of a gray 2015 Honda Civic was traveling north on Liberty Avenue when he fell asleep and veered into a parked red 1986 Nissan.
The impact pushed the parked car into a utility pole which caused the Honda to overturn onto its side.
The driver was treated for minor injuries and charged with careless driving.
The crash remains under investigation.
