Police in Newark are looking for the driver of a vehicle who tried to run over several officers investigating a shots-fired incident in the North Ward Sunday.
Early morning gunfire rang out in the area of 181 North 11th Street, sending officers to the scene to investigate.
Units arrived and immediately set up a crime scene after they located multiple shell casings.
Police dispatched additional units to the scene after a large rowdy crowd made the shots fired investigation complicated, to maintain the crime scene.
Authorities are looking for a grey Honda Accord with reported NJ license plate numbers "G14-RWH" that tried to crash into cops at the shooting scene.
No injuries were reported.
