Downtown Newark Car Crash Under Investigation

There were no severe injuries reported for the driver of a car that crashed in Newark's downtown on Thursday morning.

It happened at the intersection of Broad and West Kinney streets shortly before 7 a.m. where police say the driver of the vehicle somehow lost control and crashed into a traffic signal.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to provide assistance to the injured according to police.

Early morning precipitation that passed through the region is reportedly the blame for the crash that remains under investigation.

Utility crews repaired the downed traffic signal.
