Downtown Newark ATM Theft has Police Investigating

An early morning ATM theft that took place in the city's downtown has police investigating. 

Police responded to a convenience store in the 200 block of Market Street shortly before 6 a.m. where two masked men smashed a red 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup truck into the window of the establishment then swiped the ATM machine. The establishment is steps from the city's ice hockey arena. 

The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "B40-BXE", sped away in an unknown direction. 

It is not immediately known if the establishment was open for business during the time of the theft.
