Bergen County authorities have joined the investigation into a double stabbing incident that occurred in Washington Township overnight Sunday, October 24.
The investigation into the violent incident is active and ongoing, but according to preliminary reports, at approximately midnight, police responded to reports of a stabbing in the 40's block of Lexington Court.
Upon arrival, police taped off the area around the home and secured the scene after they located a severely injured woman and a man at that location.
Responders said the pair were inside the home with their throats slashed, with the woman unconscious and unresponsive.
The woman was transported to Valley Hospital while the man was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities believe that the incident is domestic and the man's injuries appeared self-inflicted during the preliminary investigation.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office was notified and responded to the scene.
