Domestic Stabbing Leaves Two Injured in Newark's East Ward

There were serious injuries reported for two victims of a stabbing that occurred at a residence in Newark's East Ward overnight.

It happened in the 60's block of Hawkins Street where police responded to the location after receiving reports of a quarrel that ultimately turned physical and violent at that location.

Police responded to the scene to find a male and a female suffering stab wounds according to reports.

EMS transported both victims to University Hospital for treatment.

After a brief investigation, police detained the pair, but it is not immediately clear if they will face charges at this time.

Reports say there were children home during the dispute, but they did not suffer physical injuries.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
