Police are investigating an early-morning road rage incident that escalated into gunfire Monday in a Jersey City neighborhood.

According to preliminary information, officers were dispatched at approximately 2:20 a.m. to the 287 block of Old Bergen Road following reports of shots fired.
Responding officers secured the scene after locating shell casings in the area.
Preliminary findings indicate the incident stemmed from a dispute over a parking space that escalated into a confrontation.
Investigators said the suspect allegedly fired one round into the air and another in the direction of the victim.
No injuries were immediately reported.
Authorities took the suspect into custody at the scene. The investigation remains active, and formal charges are pending.
