Police in Newark are on the search for suspects occupying a black 4-door 2010 BMW 528 with a reported NJ license ‘N36-DYH’ wanted for a triple shooting in the city this evening.
About a dozen shots were fired in the 50’s block of 7th Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. sending police to the scene where they immediately located shell casings but after a search of the area, officers did not find any victims.
While police were on the scene investigating, officials at University Hospital contacted them after three males walked into the emergency department suffering gunshot wounds.
Police say one of the victims suffered his injuries in the vicinity of Summer and 7th Avenue.
None of the victims’ injuries were reported as life-threatening.
The city has tallied up four shooting victims with one of the victims suffering fatally since 5:30 p.m.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
