There is an active and ongoing investigation underway into a police-involved shooting in a section of Jersey City at this time.
According to police, one person was struck by gunfire after an officer fired his weapon in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Union Street around 8 p.m.
The person suffered non-life threatening injuries and is en-route to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.
Police called in additional units to assist with a hostile crowd.
There are no reported injuries to officers at this time. Police officials along with Mayor Fulop said the suspect was carrying a gun when officers found him during a police operation to curb crime in the area.
