DEVELOPING: Police Investigate Two Shootings with Injuries in Newark's West Ward

Police in Newark are looking into a double shooting that occurred in the city's West Ward today.

According to police, at approximately 12:10 P.M. officers responded to reports of a person stabbed in the 200 block of West End Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found that the victim was not stabbed but suffered a bullet wound in his stomach according to reports.

The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and remained in an unknown condition.

In another incident, police responded to a person shot in the area of 14th Avenue and South 16th Street at approximately 11:30 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unidentified person suffering bullet wounds.

The victim was transported to the University Hospital and the extent of his injuries have not been confirmed.

In a final incident, police closed off the area of 344 Hawthorne after a gunman fired round at unknown targets n that street before noon today.

There were no injuries in the Hawthorne Avenue shooting.

No arrests have been reported.
