Hudson County emergency responders pulled a person from the Hudson River who suffered fatal injuries after drowning in the waters near The Stevens Institute of Technology this morning.
Details regarding the incident are developing, but according to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Sinatra Drive and 4th Avenue at approximately 7:35 a.m. after they learned that a person was in the water.
Crews arrived at the scene and found the unidentified, unconscious and unresponsive victim in the water according to reports.
Medical crews provided life-saving techniques on the victim that proved unsuccessful.
Police have an active and ongoing investigation into how the person got in the water and why.
There were no other injuries immediately reported.
