DEVELOPING NEWARK NJ: School Threats Cancelled Classes at Newark Charter School

Newark

A set of threats that were made to a Newark charter school this morning cancelled classes for the day for staff and students.

Parents at the North Star Charter School South 9th Street campus frantically scrambled to the building to get their children after school officials alerted them that they received about two bomb threats that began just after students arrived at the building to start the day.

Newark Police arrived at the location and conducted a search of the inner and outer perimeter of the building, but nothing has been found according to preliminary reports.

This is the second bomb threat called into a Newark Charter school this week with the first threat made against the Marion P. Thomas School on Tuesday.

Both incidents remain under investigation by the Newark Police Department.

There were no injuries reported.
