Details on the incident are pending a public information request from Newark Police but according to preliminary reports, police and firefighters were called to the 4th floor of building 520 for an injured person.
When rescue crews arrived, one person suffering burns due to an apparent electrocution was found according to reports.
The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment and remains in critical condition, reports said.
Firefighters reportedly extinguished a small blaze during the incident but there were no other injuries immediately reported.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
