"At this point, we are unable to share further details due to the ongoing investigation, but it was critical that we shared this update with our community".**

Two of three girls found dead inside a house in Clinton Maryland early Friday morning at around 7:37 a.m. are reported as residents of Newark.

According to a statement released by Maryland officials, police described the scene inside the home as 'gruesome' after an adult family member found the bodies then immediately contacted police.

Sources told RLS Metro Breaking News that all of the girls were under 10-years-old, but the two victims from Newark were on vacation in Maryland and are between the ages of 9 and 5-years-old.

Police are not disclosing exactly how the young girls died but did say that the victims experienced 'trauma to their bodies.'

"This is one of the most emotionally challenging crime scenes that our officers arrived on,' a spokesperson said, adding that the neighborhood where the children were found is considered peaceful." "Residence should not have any concern for their safety because we believe the incident is confined to the household," a spokesperson said.

Authorities said firefighters were first to arrive and pronounced all the children dead at the scene.

There are no suspects in custody, and the motive for the incident has yet to be determined.
