DEVELOPING NEWARK NJ: Male Enters University Hospital Suffering Bullet Wounds

You have at least two separate crime scenes in Newark that has Newark Police officers attempting to determine where a male who entered University Hospital this afternoon suffering bullet wounds.

According to prelimnary reports, residents dialed 911 when they heard just under a dozen loud popping noises on South 16th Street between 15th and 16th avenues at around 2:45 p.m.

Units arrived at the scene and found evidence that a shooting occurred but after a search of the area, no victim was found.

A short time later, police were called to the vicinity of Peshine and Madison avenues for reports of shots fired.

Officers canvassed the area and found shell casings but there were no victims according to reports.

Shortly after the shootings, a victim was transported by private vehicle to the hospital suffering non-fatal injuries.

Police are actively investigating the incident and attempting to find a motive.
