Newark Police are investigating a stabbing that left a man critical this afternoon at a location in the city,
According to preliminary reports, a crime scene unit was called the vicinity of 21 Evergreen Avenue to investigate a stabbing that occurred at that location shortly before 4 p.m.
Police say an unidentified female engaged in a quarrel with a male where she then produced a weapon and stabbed the victim leaving him severely injured.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital where doctors treated his injury then listed him in critical condition.
The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
