Police are searching for a crime scene at a housing complex in Newark’s North Ward after two victims entered hospitals in the city suffering bullet wounds Friday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, security personnel at Clara Maass Hospital contacted police when a girl, around the age of 6, entered the hospital suffering a leg injury after being struck by gunfire just before 4:40 p.m.
While police were making their way to Clara Maass, Rutgers Police informed them that a male victim entered University Hospital suffering a gunshot wound in his leg.
Both victims are reportedly in stable condition and are expected to survive their injuries.
Police are searching the Grafton Avenue side of Riverside Court for a crime scene at this time.
