There is an active investigation underway into a shots-fired incident that occurred in a section of Elizabeth on Monday morning.
According to police, at approximately 11:10 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of Court and 3rd streets.
Officers arrived and found multiple shell casings on the ground and several vehicles struck by bullets at that location.
Police searched the area and no victims were found, according to officials.
The suspect was observed on surveillance video firing at unknown targets while running from the scene according to reports.
Police report that there were no occupants inside the vehicles when they were stuck.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
