Investigators are on the scene of a pedestrian strike that has a woman dead at this time in Montclair.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders were called to the vicinity of Mt. Hebron and Grove at around 6:30 pm after receiving reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police and EMS found an unconscious and unresponsive woman suffering severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle at that location.
Police believe the woman -around the age 20-years-old exited a Decamp Bus and was then run over by it after she apparently crossed in front of the bus reports said.
The bus reportedly left this scene.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office were called to the scene to handle the investigation. A spokesperson has confirmed the fatality.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
