Several schools in Jersey City are being required to shelter in place as police set up a crime scene at a location in the city to investigate a shots-fired incident.
According to preliminary reports, police arrived in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Bayview Avenue after gunfire erupted in the area at approximately 12:25 p.m.
Units arrived and heard multiple gunshot blasts coming from the direction of a bodega in the 100 block of Bayview.
One male was located suffering a bullet wound in his shoulder, according to police. It is not clear if the victim is a police officer.
