The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation surro8nding a shooting that left a man dead overnight in Jersey City.
Gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 10 New Street just before 2:30 a.m. sending police to the scene where they arrived to find an unidentified, unconscious, and unresponsive male struck multiple times by bullets according to authorities.
The victim was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors pronounced him dead a short time later.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene by foot and remains at-large.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
