Police have Springfield Avenue shut down in both directions near the Dollar Tree in Newark as officers set up a crime scene to investigate multiple pedestrians struck by a car a short time ago.
Police were called to the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m. after an Irvington Police car struck two kids near the Shop Rite shopping center.
The victims were transported to University Hospital suffering non-fatal injuries.
Expect massive delays on Springfield Avenue as authorities investigate the cause of the incident.
