Police in Newark are on the search for suspects wanted for shooting up a neighborhood in the city’s upper West Ward this afternoon.
At approximately 1:07 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Poe and South Orange Avenue.
Units arrived and found multiple shell casings, but after searching the area, no victims were found.
Police are looking for several armed black males who fired shots in the area and then fled the scene in a white SUV. Officers reportedly found a weapon after canvassing the community .
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
No injuries were reported.
