Police in Hillside are conducting a shots-fired investigation that occurred outside a laundromat at a strip mall in the Township.
According to Hillside Police, the incident happened shortly before 3 pm Sunday where officers responded to calls of shots fired in the area of Bloy Street and Harvard Avenue.
Hillside police said officers arrived and was told by the victim that a male suspect approached him in the parking lot of the business, produced a weapon and fired a shot at him.
Police say the victim was able to get in his vehicle and leave the scene quickly.
According to authorities, the suspect chased the victim on foot and -according to the victim- fired another shot.
According to a preliminary investigation by police, video surveillance from the area showed the suspect getting into a dark-colored SUV to flee the scene.
That suspect remains at-large and the investigation is active and ongoing. No serious injuries were reported.
