There is an active investigation into an Edison police pursuit that ended in a crash that caused a fatality in Plainfield while you were asleep.
Details regarding the crash is pending a police information request, but according to preliminary reports, Edison Police attempted to pull a vehicle over for unknown wants in their city when the vehicle sped away leading officers on a high-speed chase that ended with a violent crash in the 800 block of Woodland Avenue in Plainfield shortly before midnight.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene where they pulled one person from the suspect's vehicle and attempted life-saving techniques according to reports.
Medics pronounced the suspect dead at the scene.
One Edison police officer was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
