Police are on the scene of a shooting with one person down in a neighborhood in Bayonne at this time.
Bayonne Police have not released many details regarding the incident, but according to preliminary reports from the scene, gunfire rang out from a vehicle in the vicinity of 630 Avenue C at approximately 8:35 a.m.
When police arrived, they found an unidentified male victim struck by multiple bullets in the chest at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to Jersey City Medical Center in serious condition while police searched the area for other possible victims.
Police say a dark-colored SUV sped northbound on Avenue C and remain at-large.
Avoid the area for the investigation.
